This just in: How I effed up split pea. In a crockpot. I know, right???

Let it be hereby known that split pea made without a smoked ham product tastes like baby food.

Let it also be hereby known that leaving said meatless split pea in the crockpot for 12 hours does unhappy things.

Of all the tasteless, sad, boring, disappointing, semi-burnt…!

Split pea is so good, right? Hearty, tasty, flavorful, yum!

Semi-burned, meatless split pea is just sad and only becomes marginally yum after adding a weeks’ worth of salt.

Sad, sad, sad.

Urgh…I should get your split pea soup recipe sometime. My mom’s was like grass porridge with bits of ham thrown in.
